BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday 25 June 2010 - A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd at the Officers’ Mess Bolkiah Garrison. The Guest of Honour at ceremony was Yang Mulia Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Azmansham bin Pengiran Haji Mohamad, Deputy Permanent Secretary I, Ministry of Defence.

Signing on behalf of Royal Brunei Armed Forces was Yang Mulia Lieutenant Colonel Pg Haji Tajuddin bin Pg Haji Karim, Acting Director, Directorate of Personnel, Ministry of Defence. While Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd was represented by Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman bin Pengiran Haji Mat Salleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Insurans Islam TAIB .

Also signing were Yang Mulia Awang Haji Yusop bin Hj Mahmud, Acting Director, Directorate of Finance and Acquisition, Ministry of Defence and Yang Mulia Awang Haji Osman bin Hj Md Jair, Managing Director of Insurans Islam TAIB as signing witness for the Ministry of Defence and Insurans Islam TAIB respectively.

The Group Insurance Plan was first provided to members of the RBAF on 1st April 2008 until 31 Mac 2009, which was duration of one year. Then the insurance cover was extended until 31 Mac 2010. With the signing of the agreement, members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces are once again covered under the Group Insurance Plan for a period of three years which commenced from 1 April 2010 and expires on 31 March 2013. The plan provides takaful protection to the members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces against mishaps or accidents while performing their duties or off duties, both in Brunei and abroad. The plan will provide financial benefits in the event of death, permanent disability and weekly allowance for disability. The plan however does not cover, among others, extreme sport activity or hobby and any conducts and activities which defy the syariah law.

Also in attendance in the ceremony were Senior Officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Members of Board of Directors of Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd, Officers of Perbadanan TAIB, Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd and Insurans Islam TAIB .
